Aldi issues urgent recall as yogurts may contain metal

Aldi has issued an urgent product recall for yogurts - as they may contain metal.

The German retailer has many stores across Liverpool and has issued the recall via their Facebook page.

The yogurts suspected to contain metal are the Brooklea light yogurts - supplied to the supermarket by Muller - reports Birmingham Live.

The light single pot strawberry yogurt and the light fruit multipack, including raspberry, cranberry and strawberry are the varieties specified by Aldi as being at risk.

On Facebook, Aldi wrote: "Our supplier, Muller, has recalled these product as a precautionary measure because they may contain small pieces of metal.

"Customers should return the product to their nearest store where they will receive a full refund.

"We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation.

"For further information please visit www.aldi.co.uk or contact customer.service@aldi.co.uk.

The barcodes of the products affected are: 4088600172521 and 4088600172194

Affected products carry best before dates of 20/02/20, 26/02/20 and 04/03/20.

Many customers commented underneath the post tagging their friends and family to warn them of the recall.
