Aldi issues major price announcement that will affect all shoppers in Scotland

Aldi has issued shoppers with a major announcement regarding their prices and it will affect everyone who shops in their supermarkets.

CEO of the budget supermarket Giles Hurley has confirmed the supermarket will continue to offer shoppers the lowest prices for their groceries throughout 2022.

The announcement comes amidst the news of the soaring cost of living after inflation prices have increased to the highest it has been in ten years, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Aldi's CEO made the announcement to shoppers by saying: ""There’s no doubt that 2021 was a long and difficult year for lots of people, but our amazing colleagues stopped at nothing as they came together to deliver the Christmas that our customers deserved.

"As we look ahead, the top priority for most families this year will be managing their household budgets in the face of rising living costs.

"Aldi will always offer the lowest prices for groceries, no matter what, and continue to support our British farmers and producers."

The confirmation that Aldi will continue to deliver low prices will come as welcome news for shoppers who are already grappling with rising costs across the country.

The budget supermarket's decision to keep costs low comes as other retailers have recently hiked their prices, due to the on-going cost of living crisis.

Just recently, Ikea announced that it had risen its prices by a massive 50% across all stores in the UK, while Greggs have hiked the prices of certain product's on their beloved menu by 5p just last week.

Mr Hurley's confirmation also follows the budget supermarkets plan to continue it's expansion in Scotland with a multi-million pound investment that will create hundreds of jobs across the country this year.

The popular low-cost supermarket is on plan to open three new stores across the country by the end of 2022.
