Aldi issues food recall after salmonella is found in one of it chicken products

Aldi has issued an urgent recall of one of its food products because of health concerns.

It applies to Roosters Breaded Chicken Goujons which are sold in their stores because salmonella has been detected in the product.

The food recall notice applies to batch code 20300B and 20323B with a 'Best Before' date of October 2021 and November 2021

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

As well as recalling the product, point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

It is the second salmonella warning to North East shoppers in the last week.

We reported how people have been warned to be careful when buying popular melon varieties to check which South American country they come from after recent cases of salmonella in the UK.

Experts say the possible source is thought to be whole honeydew, cantaloupe and galia melons originating from Costa Rica, Honduras or Brazil bought on or before May 28, 2021.
