Aldi issues update to customers over Kevin the Carrot plush toys ahead of Christmas

Budget supermarket giant Aldi has issued a firm warning to customers as Christmas approaches.

Aldi's Christmas adverts have featured a favourite orange character for the last five years and despite teasing that Kevin the Carrot would retire, he appeared once more in the latest Aldi Christmas advert.

Kevin the Carrot has been a staple in the Aldi festive adverts with toys and products following his popularity and they have flown off the shelves every year.

The collection is now large, with it extending to Kevin's family, in all shapes and sizes.

Now the latest range also includes 'Ebanana Scrooge' and 'Marcus Radishford' from the 2021 Aldi Christmas advert.

However the German supermarket has given an update to customers wanting to buy the Kevin the Carrot soft toys, Manchester Evening News reports.

This year, Aldi have limited the purchase of the toys to just two soft toys of each character per customer.

The stock is limited and in previous years shoppers have been ruthless in trying to get their hands on them and capitalise on the popular product.

In 2020, Kevin the Carrot toys were seen selling for as much as ten times their retail price on eBay.

After being released, the toys quickly sold out online and in stores, and were later seen on eBay for over £70 in some instances.

A spokesperson at the time said: "Our Kevin the Carrot soft toys are always incredibly popular. We have limited purchases to two soft toys of each character per customer, so as many people as possible have the chance to buy them. Additional stock will be available in store from December 6 onwards.”

This year's Kevin the Carrot Plush toys and other characters go on sale from November 25 at 8am in stores and online.
