Aldi is selling vegan trainers for an incredibly cheap price

As people across the country start 2020 determined to adopt a vegan diet, Aldi has offered something even avid meat-eaters can enjoy - incredibly cheap trainers that are also approved by the vegan society.

Because while going fully vegan might be a step too far for many, there's no reason animals should suffer for your footwear - especially trainers.

So, taking inspiration from ethical designer offerings including Stella McCartney's adidas Stan Smith sneakers and Veja's V-10s , Aldi came up with its own vegan trainers.

Except, while the Stella McCartney vegan Stan Smith versions sell for £235, Aldi's cost just £12.99 .

"Approved by the Vegan Society, the on-trend trainers are available in white with two designs - green heel or red stripe," Aldi said.

"Better yet, these stylish trainers will save shoppers a whopping 94.47% on similar products, meaning customers can go vegan and save money at the same time!"

The Aldi trainers are Vegan society approved and certified, and have a padded collar and insock for extra comfort.

"Step in style with the knowledge that these vegan trainers contain no leather and have had no animal testing whatsoever," the product description reads.

It adds they are "durable, comfortable and most importantly completely vegan".

Aldi’s Vegan Trainers hit stores on 2 January and are also available online (although that comes with a £2.95 fee unless you spend more than £20).
