Aldi is selling the cheapest supermarket turkeys this Christmas

Aldi is officially the cheapest supermarket to get your Christmas turkey from this year, as the supermarket is selling fresh turkeys for as little as £6.90.

Families across Scotland will be flocking to stores to get their Christmas dinner in before the big day and, once again, Aldi proves to be the choice for budget shoppers.

The popular budget supermarket began selling the festive dinner centrepiece earlier than usual this year, with fresh and frozen turkeys available from as far back as October.

This year, Aldi's red truck certified golden turkeys are budget friendly and packed full of flavour for your Christmas dinner this year.

What is better, is that the budget friendly festive favourites will be available from late December for anyone who needs to get their turkey last minute.

For those looking for fresh turkeys, Aldi’s Ashfields Turkey with Giblets is available in three sizes; Small (2kg – 4.49kg, serves 6-11), Medium (4.5kg – 5.99kg, serves 11-14), and Large (6kg – 8kg, serves 15-18).

Those looking for a frozen turkey can choose from the UK’s cheapest frozen whole turkey from just £2.43 per kg. Aldi’s frozen Oakhurst British Basted Whole Turkey is available in three sizes; Small (2.8kg – 4kg, serves 6-11), Medium (4kg – 5.4kg, serves 11-14), and Large (5.4kg – 7.2kg, serves 15-18).

Aldi has said that their mouth-watering bird "cooks to a golden brown with crisp skin and rich, melt in the mouth meat."

The supermarkets deal is good enough for shoppers to gobble up and the variety gives shoppers enough choice to suit every budget and taste.

Shoppers can enjoy Aldi's delicious turkeys as part of the supermarkets award winning festive menu that they have announced for this year.

This years mouth-watering festive menu includes the new Loaded Yorkshires (£3.19, 315g) which includes smokey bacon, rich pork sausage and peppery Cumberland sausage meat all encased in a crisp and fluffy Yorkshire pudding.

Also included this year is the Specially Selected British Cauliflower Cheese (£2.49, 450g) which was named ‘Best Seasonal Side’ at the Quality Food Awards.

Other delicious items for your Christmas menu this year includes Aldi’s Specially Selected Brussels Sprout Gratin (£2.49, 450g) and the Specially Selected Goose Fat Roasties (£2.49, 800g.)

Aldi has said that shoppers can flock to their stores on December 19 when their full range of Whole British Turkeys go on sale.
