Aldi is selling naan bread sandwiches filled with butter chicken

Britain is well known for its consumption of both curry and sandwiches, but rarely do the two ever join forces. And if they do, it usually involves far too many raisins.

But now Aldi has decided to combine the two popular dishes into one - and the results are pretty spectacular.

Introducing the 'naanwich', which is essentially a sandwich made from folded naan bread instead of your usual Hovis, filled with lashings of creamy butter chicken.

Described by Aldi as being 'like a taco but better', sadly not everyone can get their hands on one, with the discount store's so-called naanwiches only currently available in Australia.

If you are heading to the land down under anytime soon, you can pick up the snack in Aldi stores, which is priced at $4.99 and comes in a two-pack serving.

We've contacted Aldi to ask whether they have any plans to bring the dreamy looking snack to Britain anytime soon, and will let you know as soon as we hear back.

News of the naanwich's arrival in Australia was announced on the brand's Facebook page yesterday, which was then flooded with thousands of comments from hungry fans within minutes.

Some people claimed they've been making these themselves for a long time already, saying "This is basically how I already ate my butter chicken but God damn now it's made easier," while others praised Aldi's concoction and confirmed that not only have they already tried it, but that it's just as good as it sounds.

While ours may not be an Aldi-own brand edition, we certainly know what we'll be having for dinner...
