Aldi is selling its huge 'Big Daddy' steak again - and it's even cheaper than last year

As if on cue for the start of National BBQ Week, the skies above Scotland have darkened and the outlook isn't looking too promising.

However, the latest weather forecast from the Met Office shows that sunshine is heading our way for the bank holiday on Monday, which is great news for anyone planning a spot of outdoor dining.

Aldi has been dropping deals galore ahead of summer and giving bargain hunters plenty of reasons to make its supermarket the chain of choice for that all important essentials food shop.

Along with over 320 products on offer in its huge garden range, including great Superbuys on outdoor furniture, dining, cookware and accessories, Aldi has also dropped some delicious deals on barbecue food.

The ‘Sizzling Summer BBQ Range ’ is back in stores and includes the return of its famous Big Daddy rump steak.

Made with prime rump beef for a full and rich flavour, you can smoke this mighty rump on the grill until slightly charred for the juiciest of steaks, reports Bristol Live.

While the Big Daddy has previously been priced at £4.99, this summer it will set you back just £4.49 - terrific value for 16 ounces of meat.

Other mouthwatering inclusions in the range include the Chicken King Kebab, priced at £4.99, the Cajun Chicken sizzle BBQ pack (£4.49) and Slow Cooked Smoky BBQ Ribs (£3.29).

There are also giant Pigs in Blanket Kebabs for just £1.99

The 100% British pork sausages are wrapped in Beechwood smoked cured streaky bacon, and suitably portioned into four snackable-size kebabs.

The other pork item to get on your fork is Aldi’s Sausage Whirl Kebabs, also priced at £1.99.

Delicately seasoned and also made with 100% British pork, the swirls of sausage goodness are ready in less than half an hour.

To wash down the meat there's a wide range of wines to choose from that are ideal for pairing with barbecued foods - indoors and out.

Full-bodied reds such as the South African Cambalala Pinotage (£5.49) are the perfect match for the Big Daddy rump, while the Portuguese Alvarinho (£6.49) makes a delicious pairing for the new Salmon Kebabs.

National BBQ week takes place between May 25 - 31.
