Aldi is selling a vegan steak bake for food fans craving a Greggs during lockdown

A vegan steak bake has launched at Aldi.

The budget supermarket has followed in the flaky footsteps of Greggs by ‘beefing’ up its vegan range with its latest addition to a growing range – the Plant Menu No Steak Bake.

The frozen product is expected to become a firm favourite with foodies looking to reduce their meat intake - and bargain hunters, reports Birmingham Live

Aldi’s brand new Plant Menu No Steak Bake costs £1.19 for a pack of two and joins their ever-expanding vegan and vegetarian range - although their current vegan selection can mostly be found in the wine aisle.

£1.19 for a pack of two is a tasty bargain (Aldi)

The plant-based savoury bake can be found in the frozen section and resembles a classic steak bake in appearance and taste.

Made with a meatless filling using soya protein, and encased within a golden, crisp and flaky vegan pastry, using a blend of vegetable oils – the end result is so delicious, you definitely won’t miss the real thing.

The Plant Menu No Steak Bake is available in stores now, and is the perfect basket addition for the whole family.
