With less than two months to go until Christmas, you may well be getting your shopping plans in place.
Festivities have begun in the capital, but food shopping will not be one you need to worry about, with the news that budget supermarket Aldi is opening new stores.
London is getting three new stores by mid-December as part of a massive expansion across the country for the business.
A total of sixteen Aldis will open across the UK from November to December 12, with three set to be based in London.
It will make it four in total after another new branch launched back in September in Fulham Broadway.
The new store will make it that there are 52 Aldi stores in total in London.
The new locations will be opened in:
- Old Kent Road,
- Kentish Town
- Uxbridge
Aldi have not released the dates for when they will open but have assured customers they will be up and running int he lead up to Christmas, meaning you will be able to snap up your Christmas food shop from here in the weeks leading up.
The store has also said there could be more stores opening in 2026, as the company has plans to “continue growing in the new year”, saying it has a blueprint to spend upwards of £1.6 billion into brand new store openings by the end of 2027.
A representative for Aldi said that its rapid expansion was “reflective of the pace and ambition behind our growth plan”, adding: “At Aldi, we’re focused on making affordable, high-quality food accessible to as many people as possible - and opening new stores is at the heart of how we do that.”
