Aldi is hiring in Bristol and is offering perks including gym membership and cinema discounts

Salaries are rising in Bristol as employers struggle to fill roles, meaning it’s a good time for job seekers.

Supermarkets are among businesses offering impressive pay packets and great perks to staff in a bid to attract talent.

Aldi is currently hiring for a number of different roles across Bristol including deputy store managers, store management apprentices, store assistants and caretakers.

Deputy store managers earn £10.10 an hour - going up to £11.41 an hour - and an extra £4 on top when running the store.

There is also the opportunity for career progression at the supermarket, with those being promoted to store manager earning £45,565, rising to £59,420 after four years.

Interview tips

The advert for the deputy store manager job states: “One day could find you sorting out deliveries, placing orders and scheduling hours to meet productivity targets.

“The next, you might be focused on people management and performance, handling customer queries or carrying out till spot checks.

“And all the while you'll handle the over-riding goals of maximising sales in your store, ensuring great customer service, minimising costs and optimising productivity.”

How to apply for a job at Aldi

To apply for the deputy store manager role, candidates will need to submit an online application where they will be asked questions including the hours they are looking to work.

There will also be a test to judge skills such as mental arithmetic, judgement and memory.

Once the application has been submitted, hiring managers will screen the answers.

Those who are successful will be invited for an interview or to a group assessment instore.

Following a successful interview, candidates will then be invited to take part in an ‘Adli Store Experience’ where they will get the chance to observe the different tasks they would be expected to complete.
