Aldi Ireland respond to whether specialbuys are completely cancelled during lockdown

All non-essential Specialbuys in Aldi are cancelled for the month of November but one time offers will still run.

The supermarket giant has been forced to cull many of their offers for the month in line with Government guidance.

However, items deemed essential that were scheduled to go on offer will still be going ahead.

An Aldi spokesperson said in response to an online question: "In line with Government guidance, we have decided to postpone all non-essential product Specialbuys promotions.

"One-off Specialbuys offers on essential products will continue to be placed on sale each Thursday and Sunday."

Competitors Lidl have had to do the same with only essential offers till hitting the shelves and in particular the middle aisles.

A spokesperson said: "In a statement, Lidl said: "We are also in the process of removing from sale any residual stock of previous non-essential promotions.

"We will continue to sell items that are classed as essential e.g. for the upkeep of residence and businesses, safety clothing, repair and maintenance of cars and bikes etc in our middle aisles."
