Aldi introduces a 'Glastonbury-style' queuing system to help with demand for Kevin the Carrot toys

Aldi has confirmed it has introduced a new 'Glastonbury-style' queuing system ahead of the release of its Kevin the Carrot toy range this year.

The retailer has employed the same online queuing technology websites like See Tickets use to cope with demand for Glastonbury tickets.

The range is due to go on sale online this Sunday, November 15, and in store on sale dates will vary. Demand is already huge after this year's advert aired earlier this month.

The toys will be released as part of Aldi's Special Buy range which means numbers will be limited. In the past the range has caused led to reports of fighting and chaos in Liverpool shops.

For the first time, the toys will be available for delivery through Deliveroo, meaning some customers can get their choice the same day.

The toy range includes the new Pilot Kevin and a whole host of new friends, including Wingman Turkey, Harry the Hedgehog, Grate Grandma and Grate Grandad (£3.99 each or available as a bundle for £19.95)

The range also sees the return of Kevin and Katie the Carrot (each £3.99) and a family of Chantenay, Jasper and Baby (£3.99 for the set). For an even bigger helping of carrots this Christmas, shoppers can also get their hands on Giant Kevin (£19.99)

Customers will be restricted to a maximum of two of each item in order to ensure everyone gets a chance to buy something from the range.

Other items in the Kevin the Carrot range include pyjamas, decorations, mugs and gift wrap.
