Aldi goes back to roots for Oktoberfest-inspired German range

With Oktoberfest traditionally attracting over 6 million visitors from around the world every year, Aldi shoppers can be sure not to miss out on this year’s cancelled celebrations by bringing a taste of German cuisine to their homes.

With the supermarket’s humble beginnings in the city of Essen, Western Germany, Aldi knows how to throw a Bavarian style feast with a selection of meats, strudels and German wines. The Produced in Germany range is designed to save your Oktoberfest!

Say Hallo to Frikadellen (£1.99, 500g), this pork patty mixed with breadcrumbs, herbs and spices is an Oktoberfest inspired snack. So are the pork German Meatballs (£1.99, 500g). For those looking for a traditional taste of German fare, Aldi’s Bockwurst Sausages (£1.35, 550g) are frankly the best.

Create the ultimate Oktoberfest sandwich with the German Smoked Baked Ham (£1.19, 120g) , layered with Specially Selected Swiss Le Gruyère Aop Reserve (£1.99, 150g) and Dijon Mustard (£0.35, 200g) .

Guten Appetit! No Oktoberfest inspired meal would be complete without a slice of sugary crisp Apple Strudel (£0.85, 600g) .

EINS, ZWEI, G’SUFFA! Wash it all down with Aldi’s Steinhauser German Lager (£4.25, 6x330ml) , or a Blütengarten German Riesling (£4.49, 75cl).
