Aldi fans share top tips to remember during your next visit

In the last five years budget supermarket Aldi has saw its popularity soar with last Christmas recorded as its busiest ever.

However, tackling your local Aldi store isn't for the faint-hearted so to help anyone who is thinking of shopping at Aldi for the first time, these are the tips you need to remember.

MirrorOnline took to Facebook to ask Aldi regulars for their biggest tips and they received plenty of advice and replies.

Below, we've listed the tips which came out on top and were among the most common answers.

How to handle the packing

The budget supermarket has a reputation for its speedy cashiers, which can make the checkout process incredibly stressful - especially if you've got young children and other bags to manage.

However, shoppers say the best way to manage this is by chucking all of your items back into your trolley - and bagging your goods at the packing bench, instead.

Next up is to "take your own bags".

One customer said: "Take your own bags, please pack at the packing bench or you’re going to hold everyone else up."

"Never go on the weekend"

Despite when you might think might the best time to shop, several customers believe you should avoid the weekends.

Arrange your shopping correctly

Her next tip was arranging your items in order of size and weight.

The customer named Lissi, said: "Load up the conveyor in order it needs to go into bags, for example heavy things first, then open up all your bags in the trolley ready to load."

This means you'll be quicker to pack your items - and you won't have to worry about damaging anything fragile.

Always shop with a list

One Aldi fan said: "Always take a list with you otherwise you end up coming out with more than you went for.

"But it's still great value though even if you do buy more than your original list. Oh, and never shop when you are hungry because then you really will over shop."
