Aldi doubles number of stores you can get 30 minute home deliveries from - the full list

Aldi is about to start offering home delivery in 30 minutes from 11 new locations - with stores in Manchester and Cambridge being added to the mix.

The new service is part of a tie-up with Deliveroo, which has seen the budget retailer roll out across stores in the East Midlands and London already this year.

From Monday, it means customers living near Aldi 20 stores in England can choose from about 200 essential Aldi groceries online, then have them delivered to their door in as little as 30 minutes.

Aldi's Richard Thornton said: “Even as many lockdown restrictions are lifted, we’re aware that there are still many people who are shielding and would like to shop at Aldi but can’t.

“In extending this trial further, we are making it even easier for thousands more people in different parts of the country to get hold of great quality food at Aldi’s unbeatable prices.”

Orders are placed using the Deliveroo app, then groceries are then picked and packed by Aldi staff before taken to addresses within up to 5km of the store by Deliveroo’s riders.

Aldi dipped its toes into the home delivery market in May, offering a high-speed service from its Daleside Road store in Nottingham

Partnering with Deliveroo to get the food to people's doors, it extended the trial to a further seven stores across the East Midlands in June.

This was then extended to London after Aldi's Camden branch was added to the new system.

Now three more stores across Greater London, plus another in Cambridge, are set to join the trial - alongside five stores in Greater Manchester and two additional London stores next week.

If successful, the Deliveroo service could be rolled out across more stores in other towns and cities across the UK before the end of the year.

The latest stores to join the Aldi home delivery trial are:

  • Kilburn
  • Tottenham
  • North Finchley
  • Histon Rd, Cambridge

Stores launching the service on Monday, 20 July:

  • Manchester Ancoats
  • Manchester Arndale
  • Didsbury
  • Trafford
  • Altrincham
  • Balham
  • Archway, London
