Thursday’s are always a bit special at Aldi, especially for bargain hunters.

This week, alongside a huge Father’s Day Specialbuys range that includes everything from tool sets to super-sized Smart Tvs, Adi has brought back its famous Bigger Daddy steak.

The mighty steak weighs in at a whopping 794g and costs just £7.99.

Aldi's 'Bigger Daddy' Extra Thick British Rump Steak is on sale in store from today (Thursday) and is the perfect centrepiece for the celebration on Sunday.

The budget supermarket has brought back the popular cut alongside its premium Wagyu steak range, renowned for its unrivalled taste and distinctive marbling, reports Hull Live.

Wagyu beef is popular around the world because of its superior eating quality compared with other breeds of cattle.

Not only does Wagyu beef have higher levels of intra-muscular fat, or marbling, but the meat texture is finer, resulting in a more flavoursome eating experience.

A ‘super beef’ of sorts, wagyu is known for being so tender it actually melts in your mouth.

Aldi customers can choose from the following Wagyu range:

  • Specially Selected Wagyu Sirloin Steak (£6.49, 227g) - A prime lean cut of beef that is both tender and flavoursome.

  • Specially Selected Wagyu Rump Steak (£5.99, 227g) - Juicy, tender and loaded with flavour.

  • Specially Selected Wagyu Ribeye Steak (£6.99, 227g) - Promises taste and tenderness in every bite.

  • Specially Selected Wagyu Fillet Steak (£7.49, 170g) - Perfectly tender, making for a melt-in-the-mouth texture.

Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: "The popularity of Wagyu Beef has increased drastically as more people discover its mouthwatering taste and texture.

"We’re pleased to be able to exclusively offer our British Wagyu Burger range for customers to enjoy, whilst supporting British suppliers like Warrendale Farm at the same time."

Shoppers can browse the latest offers and Father's Day Fresh Meat range in their local Aldi store or in the latest Specialbuys leaflet online here.
