As restrictions continue to ease across the country and summer begins, supermarket giant Aldi is bringing back one surprising winter product back to its shelves next month - Specially Selected Mini Mince Pies.
'Junemas', a summer Christmas celebration, takes place on June 25 and research released by Aldi shows that a whopping half of Brits (47%) are planning to celebrate the occasion with friends and family after many had get-togethers cancelled in December due to lockdown.
It’s clear as restrictions ease, the thought of Christmas and being reunited with our friends and family has many feeling a little sentimental.
When asked what festive food they would most like to see back on shelves this Junemas, half of Brits (49%) listed mince pies as their quintessential Christmas treat.
Web searches for ‘mince pies’ also went up by an incredible 25 per cent in April alone.
With 81 per cent of people planning a lockdown-lifting party next month, the most popular celebration is set to be with our closest friends, with over 70 per cent of those polled looking forward to being reunited with pals they’ve missed, closely followed by get-togethers with extended family (62%).

Aldi’s Specially Selected Mini Mince Pies will be available for £1.79 in stores nationwide from June 21.
