As the nation keeps its fingers crossed for the lifting of restrictions, Aldi will be bringing back a merry mix of festive products next month.
Aimed at those planning to make up for a disappointing December by celebrating Christmas in summer - Junemas; the line-up includes a seasonal twist on a festive favourite - the Giant Pigs in Blanket Kebab.
The supermarket kicked off the excitement a few weeks ago with the announcement that its popular Specially Selected Mini Mince Pies are set to return next month, after it was revealed that 47% of Brits will be marking Christmas on June 25 this year, after so many were unable to celebrate on the big day.
Conducting a poll via its Twitter feed, Aldi asked customers to vote for the festive product they would most like to see back in stores. The supermarket’s famed Pigs in Blankets came in as a clear winner, receiving a whopping 73.8% of the votes.
To satisfy its customers’ appetites, Aldi has today confirmed a whole range returning to its shelves to mark the summer Santa season. Not only Giant Pigs in Blanket Kebabs (£2.49), but also its popular Loaded Pig In Blankets (£2.99), which flew off the shelves in December last year, and Frankfurter Sausage Wrapped in Bacon & Mustard (£2.99), which will all be on sale next month.
The supermarket is also catering for customers looking to fire up the barbecue Santa style, by launching new Turkey Burgers (£2.49) as well as a range of other turkey alternatives for a more adventurous Christmas spread.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said: “As we gear up to celebrate Junemas, we want to make sure our customers have everything they need to make this day truly special. So we are delighted to have put the decision into our customers’ hands, asking them to cast their vote on their Aldi festive favourites, which they can enjoy alongside some new exciting treats when they reunite with friends and family next month.”
The range of festive products will appear in stores on Monday, June 21. But as with any Specialbuy, shoppers better be quick as once they’re gone, they’re gone.
