Aldi asks John Lewis CEO to contact Kevin the Carrot urgently and gets the perfect response

John Lewis finally shared its Christmas advert for 2019 with fans yesterday with social media awash with opinions and thought on this year's offering.

But, one of the funniest reactions to the advert came from Aldi's official Twitter account.

John Lewis' advert follows the story of adorable dragon, Excitable Edgar and follows the story of someone who goes the extra mile for their best friend in order to find the right present.

Edgar is an young dragon who almost derails festivities thanks to his fire-breathing excitement.

Aldi shared an image from the advert footage shows Edgar holding a carrot, and tweeted: "Can the CEO of @jlandpartners PLEASE CONTACT #KevinTheCarrot URGENTLY. Thank you. #ExcitableEdgar."

Since sharing the tweet last night, it has received more than 600 retweets and more than 4,000 likes.

John Lewis and Waitrose even responded to Aldi too.

@jlandpartners said: "Here at John Lewis & Partners and Waitrose & Partners we are really big fans of #KevinTheCarrot and were excted to feature his photo in our campaign. What do you think @waitrose?

And, @waitrose repled: "Don't panic @AldiUK. We're rooting for you Kev. Edgar's got the #LeaftyBlinders sorted so the show can go on. #ExcitableEdgar #KevinTheCarrot #jlandpartners." Its tweet was shared alongside a photos of a bowl of burnt brussel sprouts.
