Many of us are looking forward to Hogmanay celebrations now that Christmas is over for another year.
However, new year brings with it some bank holidays and store closures around the country.
This can cause some upset for those needing to nip to the shops or Scots looking to stock up their fridge during the next few days or so.
You may be wondering what supermarkets are closed when and how opening hours could differ as we say goodbye to 2021.

Here is everything you need to know.
Aldi
Up to December 30, the stores will be open from 8am to 8pm.
On New Year's Eve, the store will close early at 6pm, but will still open at 8am. Aldi stores will be closed on New Year's Day.

Asda
Superstores will remain open throughout the New Year, however, some will operate on reduced hours on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Stores will be open from 6am to 7pm on New Year's Eve and between 10am and 5pm on New Year's Day.

Lidl
Most Lidl stores will be open from 8am to 6pm or 7pm on New Year's Eve, so check what time your local store closes using the store locator.
Lidl has confirmed all stores will be closed on New Year's Day.

Morrisons
Up to Thursday (December 30) stores will be open from 6am to 10pm.
They will then be open from 7am to 6pm on New Year's Eve.
Morrisons is one of the few stores that will be open on New Year's Day and will be open from 9am to 6pm.

Tesco is operating on normal working hours up until New Year's Eve when they will be open between 6am and 7pm.
The store will be shut on New Year's Day.

Most stores will be open from 7am to 7pm on New Year’s Eve and convenience stores will close at 9pm.
On New Year’s Day, most stores will be open between 8am and 8pm
