Aldi announces extension of contact-free click-and-collect service across 15 Irish stores

Aldi has today announced an extension to the new click-and-collect service across 15 stores in Dublin.

After the service’s successful trial period at the Sallynoggin store, Aldi is launching click-and-collect at its Santry and Long Mile Road stores.

The budget retailer confirmed it will be announcing further locations in the coming weeks, so more customers can avail of the contact-free grocery shopping experience.

How it works

Customers can choose from a full range of grocery items online, then drive to their local store where they can have their shopping brought to their cars, contact-free and in line with social distancing measures.

Customers will be given specific time slots to arrive at dedicated click-and-collect points to ensure there is no backup or major wait times.

You will be asked to drive into the car park and can pick up your shopping there from a designated area.

Speaking about the extension, Niall O’Connor, Group Managing Director, Aldi Ireland, said: “Following the success of the initial trials of the service, we’re really excited to now be able to offer Click and Collect to Irish customers in this roll out to selected stores.

"We’re really thrilled to offer even more ways for our customers to access the high-quality, affordable food they shop at Aldi for, especially at this time with all of us continuing to live through the impact of the pandemic.

"We are continuously reviewing and looking at new ways we can enhance our customers’ experience with Aldi and this is another solution that we’re proud to provide."

Aldi also has a rapid delivery service in place across stores in Ireland in partnership with Deliveroo.

This currently allows customers from selected areas to order from a range of more than 450 Aldi products and have them delivered to their doorstep in just 30 minutes.
