Aldi announces big change to Sunday hours from this week

Aldi stores will open half an hour early this Sunday, ahead of England’s Euro 2020 match against Croatia.

Stores across England and Wales will open 30 minutes earlier than usual for browsing every Sunday, to give football fans more time to stock up on food during the Euros.

The early Sunday opening time will continue throughout the summer to also give shoppers across the UK chance to visit their local store at a quieter time.

Aldi stores in Scotland will retain their usual 8am opening hours on a Sunday, in line with Scottish Sunday Trading regulations.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “We can’t wait for the football to kick off this weekend and want to help our customers enjoy the tournament as much as possible. Opening earlier will give fans more time to stock up on the great quality Aldi bargains they need to enjoy the football.”
