Aldi and Waitrose issue urgent recall on products containing 'undeclared peanuts'

Shoppers are being warned about an urgent product recall on 25 items made by Sacla’ with "undeclared peanuts".

Among the list of items flagged up on the Food Standards Agency's website are products sold at Aldi and Waitrose.

The items - including Waitrose Basil Pesto and Aldi Cucina sundried tomato pesto - may contain peanuts "making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts", according to the agency.

Sacla’ is recalling the goods from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations - which will pass on the alert to their members.

Sacla, Aldi and Waitrose have issued point-of-sale notices to their customers. These notices explain to shoppers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the item.
