Aldi and Lidl have pulled several products from their shelves, with customers urged to return them immediately.
Notices on the Food Standards Agency website show that the two budget supermarkets have both issued recalls in relation to items which may contain potentially harmful allergens. Shoppers will receive a full refund if they return the items.

Drinking sticks
Lidl has recalled four varieties of its drinking chocolate sticks because the labelling is not written in English and therefore does not make it clear that the products contain various allergens
The products affected are:
Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks - Fine Dark Chocolate, which contains soya
Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks - Fine Hazelnut which contains milk, nuts and soya.
Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks - With Speculoos which contains milk, wheat and soya.
Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks - Fine White Chocolate which contains milk and soya
Alesto Snacking Pockets which contain cashew nuts, almond, hazelnuts and sulphur dioxide.
Lidl advised anyone with an allergy or intolerance to the ingredients to return the product to the store they bought it from for a full refund.
If you have bought any of the above product and have an allergy to either nuts and/or sulphur dioxide do not eat it.
Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.
These products contain cashew nuts, almond, hazelnuts and sulphur dioxide.
Aldi
Aldi has recalled its Clancy’s Barbecue Flavour Coated Peanuts because they contain cashew nuts, which are undeclared on the label.
The supermarket is warning customers with a nut allergy not to consume the snacks, but instead to return it to the shop where it was purchased.
