Aldi and Lidl recall Müller yoghurts as they may contain small pieces of metal

Several types of yoghurt made by Müller are being urgently recalled from supermarkets amid fears they may contain small pieces of metal.

The recall affects several types of Müller products, including their Fruit Corner six-packs and Müller rice.

Lidl and Aldi are among the shops where notices will be placed. Some yoghurts labelled as Brooklea are also being recalled.

A production fault means there could be small pieces of metal inside the yoghurt, making them unsafe to eat.

Food Stanrds Scotland have advised customers: "If you have bought any of the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund."

The company said: "As a precautionary measure Müller is recalling some batches of Müller Fruit Corner and Müllerlight, Müller Bliss Mascarpone Style Yogurt and Müller Rice, due to the possible presence of small pieces of metal in the product."
