The future of Toby Alderweireld has been a hot topic of conversation around north London this summer.
The Tottenham star has just one year left on his Spurs contract, and with no new deal agreed it's been reported that the defender could be allowed to move on.
This has only been escalated by the £25million release clause currently in Alderweireld's contract.
But there's good news for the Spurs fans.
Despite interest from Italian side Roma, Mauricio Pochettino has named the Belgian defender as his captain for the pre-season friendly with Juventus.
While this isn't cast iron evidence about his future, it's certainly a positive sign that the 30-year-old could be part of the Spurs set-up this term.
Of course Tottenham's fans will be hoping that Alderweireld can sign a new contract in north London, and the news of the defender being named skipper for the Juventus clash has got them very excited.
