Albo still in hospital after Sydney crash

Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has spent the night in hospital after being hurt in a car crash in Sydney's inner west.

AAP understands the 57-year-old Labor leader was driving when he was "T-boned" by a Range Rover in a collision at the intersection of Hill and Glen streets, in Marrickville, about 5pm on Friday.

He was taken to a Sydney hospital, where he remained on Friday night, and is still undergoing tests. He'll likely be discharged on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesman for Mr Albanese confirmed on Saturday the opposition leader had suffered some injuries in the accident. He said medical authorities were being "very careful" before permitting Mr Albanese to go home.

The 17-year-old Range Rover driver from Beverly Hills was not hurt in the incident, but has been handed a ticket for negligent driving.
