Albion Rovers return to action green lit after weeks of Covid chaos

Albion Rovers are set to return to action tomorrow against Stirling ending weeks on the sidelines due to Covid.

A coronavirus outbreak has blighted the League Two side in recent weeks with the game against Cowdenbeath postponed last week with seven players and staff testing positive.

With several others self-isolating, the club were unable to field a matchday squad and now face an SPFL probe.

The week before Rovers were forced to forfeit their Betfred Cup clash with Hamilton was due to a spread of the virus.

The last outing for Brian Reid's squad was the group stage 5-1 defeat to Annan on November 10, but Lanarkshire Live Sport understands Rovers will be back in action at Clfitonhill tomorrow after training this week.

Earlier this week gaffer Reid admitted his concerns about the fitness of his players and they would have to "blow the cobwebs off the whole squad."
