Albion Rovers have completed the signing of defender James McGowan on a pre-contract deal.
The 28 year-old was outstanding for the Coatbridge side after on-loan from Troon for the second half of the season.
McGowan played an integral role as Brian Reid's side embarked on a brilliant run to ease any relegation fears to finish in seventh place.
The experienced centre-back's contract expired at Ayrshire side Troon this summer and Rovers boss Reid was delighted to start his summer transfer business early.
He said: "Gowser(McGowan) was one of my main targets and I am delighted it was an easy process. James wants to be here and we already know what he brings to our side.
"He's aggressive and commanding - and he brings that core of experience that you need at this level.
"Our goal is to do our business early and not get left behind. We are in a good place at the moment and we are working away on players that may surprise a few."
