Albion Rovers chairman walks after 'tireless endeavour' in a 'challenging time'

Albion Rovers chairman Eddie Hagerty has resigned.

The Cliftonhill supremo was voted back in as head of the League Two side last month at the club AGM.

At the time, he stated he hoped to form a community-style football model.

Hagerty has been in the position since November 2018,  and will remain as a director at the Coatbridge outfit.

Director Ian Benton has stepped up to take the helm at the club.

The brief statement from the club read: "Albion Rovers wish to announce the resignation of Eddie Hagerty as chairman.

"The club would like to put on record it's thanks to Eddie for his tireless endeavour during what has been a challenging time.

"Eddie will continue serve as a director of the club."
