Albion Rovers favourite Gary Phillips has urged club supremos to snap up Albion Rovers boss Kevin Harper wants board backing next term after completing great escape for next season.
Winger Phillips says he would love to stay on at the club for another term with the current crop of talent, and reckons boss Harper will be a key figure if the club are to go for success.
“There is no denying that we have a good group in the dressing room now,” said the 31-year-old.
“It’s been said a few times but if we had been able to keep up this form for the full season we would have been up there challenging.

“You don’t want to see anyone leave with the group we have in the dressing room, but unfortunately that’s football.
“Keeping the gaffer will be massive to the club. He has had time to work with the boys now and knows there is a good group.
“Kevin and Joe know the time to have a laugh with the boys and when it’s important to knuckle down.
“They have brought real professionalism to the club.

“I’ve been with Rovers for a good few years and you want to see a bit of consistency sometimes.
“Everybody at the club will be hoping that they can get a minimum of a play-off place next season, or go that bit further.
“Hopefully things will get sorted soon with the gaffer and the squad, then we can focus on next season.”
