Albion Rovers bring in former Motherwell defender

Albion Rovers have brought in former Motherwell defender Jack Brown as their first summer signing.

The versatile 17-year-old, who is Brian Reid's first capture as Rovers boss, played in a number of defensive positions for the Fir Park club's reserves last season.

Reid told Albion Rovers' website: "He is the type of player I want at our club, he is a determined individual who wants to improve.

“Jack can play in a couple of positions and he has great energy and pace."

Jack, who has been capped by Scotland at youth level, commented: "I can’t wait to get started.

"I think the move comes at the right time for me. Playing in senior competitive matches is what is going to help me develop.”
