Albion Rovers boss hopes Fort William Scottish Cup rout will lead to league form boost

Albion Rovers boss Kevin Harper hopes they put down a marker against Fort William in the Scottish Cup replay.

Doubles from Scott Roberts and Ouzy See and a Smart Osadolor strike won the Claggan Park clash.

Harper said: “We are certainly happy to be through but it could have been eight or nine.

“We know we can play and we know that we will create chances, but we have to take them.

“We knew we could play better than last week against Fort William, so it was a chance for the players to prove a point. I think they made that point.

“It’s been a tough few weeks for the players but they have come through it and it’s time to put it right.

“We can play far, far better than where we are in the league.”

Harper added that he was looking forward to testing himself against Airdrie on Monklands Derby day in the next round of the Scottish Cup.

He added: “It’s good financially for the club to have a home tie against our local rivals, and it’s something that we can look forward to.

“It’s a good test for me and a good test for our players against a team from a higher level. “
