Brian Reid was left frustrated by another offside call going against his side as they fell to a late defeat against Forfar.
Stefan McCluskey broke the deadlock for the Loons in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat and Reid was convinced the striker was offside when he fired the visitors in front in the League Two clash.
He has since reviewed video replays and admits although the decision was tight, it could have been given in his side’s favour.
PJ Crossan doubled Forfar’s lead early in the second half before Rovers rallied to level through sub Kieran Dolan’s wonder goal and a Charlie Reilly strike. But Rovers switched off at a free-kick eight minutes from time and Steven Anderson struck to win it for the Loons in the end.
And Reid, whose side were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Ayr the previous week after a clear ‘offside goal’ in a 2-1 defeat, said: “I’m disappointed with Forfar’s first goal because it looked offside from where I was.
“I’ve had a look at it after Saturday and it’s a tight decision that didn’t go for us. It’s not very clear on the angle we have on the video, but there’s nothing we can do about it now.
“It was the same against Ayr United the week before and that one went against us as well, so I’m just hoping it balances itself out and we’ll get some going in our favour now.
“It’s not easy for linesman and referees and looking at the replay it is tight, but it could have gone our way.
“The players showed good character to come right back into the game and we looked like the team most likely to win the game, but we don’t defend a cross properly and we lose a scrappy goal.
“It’s really disappointing because the least we deserved was a point.”
Having faced second in the table, eighth place Rovers now head to league leaders Kelty Hearts on Saturday.
It’s a daunting challenge against the high-flying side and Reid added: “Kelty have got a big budget and good experienced players so it’s going to be really tough.
“We’ve got to make sure we defend properly. Up until the Forfar game we’ve been pretty solid.
“But we had no defenders on the bench on Saturday and I’ve got six player sitting in the stand so it’s tough.
“Max Wright has got a problem with his calf and had to come off on Saturday, so we’ll need to wait and see how he is as well.”
