Albion Rovers boss Brian Reid says his side don't fear anyone ahead of massive Brechin City clash

Brian Reid says Albion Rovers don’t fear anyone ahead of their final eight games of the season.

Rovers travel to face bottom side Brechin City as they look to continue their impressive form and avoid relegation from League Two this season.

The Cliftonhill side have lost just once in their last four games - against runaway leaders Queen’s Park - and Rovers boss Reid has been encouraged by his side’s recent form.

“Our improvement is pleasing," said Reid. “ I know that I’ve brought in some good lads and good professionals who are helping the younger ones.

“There’s a determination about the team at the moment which is good to see. There is a belief about the team which is what you need and I don’t think we fear anyone.

“Queen’s Park are ahead of everyone in the division with the money they’ve spent and the squad they’ve got so that’s a different game.

“Against any other team in the division, we don’t fear anybody which is a credit to where we’ve come from."

Albion Rovers are six points ahead of rivals Brechin ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s clash at Glebe Park.

It could prove to be a pivotal game for both side’s prospects this season and Reid knows that his side need to be fully focused.

He said: “Every single game is huge at the moment regardless of who you play. It’s a big game for Brechin too and we’ve got to understand that.

“We’ve got to go up there with the right attitude, play in the right manner, take our chances and defend properly. If we do that then we’ll give ourselves a good chance.

“There is a confidence running through the team at the moment and a belief that is certainly good at this stage of the season.

“We are confident going into every game but not complacent because the players have that wee bit between their teeth.

“Hopefully the players can go and show that on Saturday but it’s a tough game. It’s a difficult place to play at Brechin and they are fighting for their lives.

“We are expecting a very hard game but it’s a game that we need to go and pick up points.
