Albion Rovers boss Brian Reid admits suspension disrupted transfer plans

Albion Rovers manager Brian Reid's transfer plans are being disrupted by the league's suspension.

Last week, the SFA announced that the suspension of the lower leagues had been extended until at least February 14th.

Reid is keen to bolster his squad ahead of the League 2 restart but without clarity on a return date, it's not an easy task.

He said: "It's really difficult. We have no idea when we are going to start back, so speaking to players is a problem.

"We need clarity on the situation. As a manager, you're always looking at players and trying to improve your squad but it's nigh on impossible.

"Until we know if there's a way forward there isn't really a point bringing anybody in. The longer it goes then obviously, the less likely it is for anything to happen.

"I'm not in these meetings so I rely on what the club tells me so I'm a wee bit in the dark."

Albion Rovers are embroiled in a relegation battle with Brechin City and Reid insists that his players are desperate to return.

"All players want to play football, they want to keep playing. All professional sportsman would be the same but it's a difficult time and we all have to remain patient."
