Albion Rovers announce contract extensions for Sean Fagan and Jamie McKernon

Albion Rovers have announced contract extensions for Sean Fagan and Jamie McKernon.

Both players were part of Brian Reid's side that embarked on an excellent run towards the end of the League Two season to dispel any relegation fears.

Experienced midfielder McKernon was an important player for the Coatbridge side when the lower leagues returned after joining from West of Scotland League side Darvel.

The 29 year-old has Premiership experience from his time at St Mirren where he made his debut against Celtic in 2010.

Defender Fagan made 12 appearances for Rovers last season as he endured an injury disrupted season.

The 21 year-old is a former Scotland youth international and he will be looking to kick on at Cliftonhill next season.

Rovers boss Reid has been busy this summer bringing in defenders Aldin El Zubaidi and James McGowan, midfielders Scott Roberts and David Wilson, and striker Declan Byrne.

From last season, Reid has re-signed goalkeeper Chris Smith, defender Alfie Robinson, midfielders Ryan Stevenson, Aron Lynas, Callum Wilson and Jamie Leslie and striker Kyle Doherty.
