Albion Rovers admit Queen's Park game is 'difficult to call' amid Coronavirus outbreak

Albion Rovers says there are taking extra precautions as they look to limit any spread of Coronavirus.

The Scottish Government revealed the new cases this afternoon, just hours after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon revealed  gatherings of over 500 are set to be banned.

With Rovers welcoming Queen's Park this weekend with a crowd around the 500 mark expected, secretary Colin Woodward admits it is still up in the air whether they will be forced to call of their game or play it behind closed doors amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Woodward said: "We will be following the SPFL and UK guidelines, and until then we will carry on as normal.

"We will be taking into consideration the age of our fans, but it's difficult for us to call. We will be waiting on guidance, but we have organised to have additional hand sanitiser, soap and towels at the stadium.

"Our crowds aren't massive but this weekend we would be expecting about 200 Queen's Park fans.

"Most League Two clubs will have similar sized fan based of a similar age to us, so we would advise all fans to follow the advice of the health board and government."

A Queen's Park spokesperson added: "The club is very carefully monitoring UK and Scottish Government advice around the Coronavirus outbreak.

"We are also receiving frequent updates from the Scottish FA and SPFL.

"The club will keep our members and supporters updated of any changes in our business practices through our social media channels."
