Rovers sub Sam Jamieson grabbed a precious point for his side as he bagged a last-gasp leveller against Annan at Cliftonhill.
Iain Anderson had given the visitors the lead with a superb overhead kick, but Jamieson struck inside stoppage time after Jordan Lowdon was shown a second yellow card.
Anderson's acrobatic overhead kick looked like being enough to separate the sides in a tough encounter that had few moments of real drama.
Rovers might have felt hard done-by after having what looked like a stonewall penalty denied in the first half, but they didn't threaten Annan's goal nearly enough.
The first half was very even and although Annan probably edged it on possession, there were very few chances.
Rovers looked like they were denied a stick-on penalty in 16 minutes though when Matty Aitken went down inside the box under a heavy challenge by Cameron Clark.
The second half was much the same, with Annan dominating without doing a lot with it until Anderson's moment of magic.
Up until that point it looked like these sides could have played all day and still not scored.
But Jamieson struck late on.
Rovers boss Brian Reid had earlier said it's time for his side to start picking up points, and hoped that would start against Annan.
Reid kept faith with the same line-up that lost to Edinburgh City in midweek.
Annan boss Peter Murphy made three changes to the side that crashed out of the Scottish Cup second round against Formartine United.
Goalkeeper Alex Mitchell replaced Brian Kinnear, while Mark Docherty and Anderson came in for Kyle Fleming and Max Wright.

Rovers had a decent chance in five minutes when Callum Wilson won a free kick against Jordon Lowdon just outside the box, but David Cox's put-in was well blocked and eventually cleared by Annan.
Annan were awarded a rare indirect free kick for a pass back in 10 minutes, Tony Wallace played it back to Aiden Smith, and his low shot was cleared only as far as Alex McCraw, whose shot was superbly saved by Harry Stone.
Rovers were screaming for what looked like a strong penalty claim in 16 minutes when Matty Aitken went down under a challenge inside the box, but referee Matthew MacDermid wasn't interested.
Annan tried again in 21 minutes with Matt Douglas's long throw in headed about the box, but Stone made a confident catch before it could turn into anything serious.
The visitors had another half-chance in 25 minutes when another bout of head-tennis from a long throw resulted in the ball being played to Docherty on the left but his curling shot landed on the roof of the net.
Wallace's corner from the left was then met neatly at the near post by Anderson and although his flick was harmlessly wide, the intent was there.
Rovers had a long throw-in routine of their own though and in 28 minutes James McGowan's set-piece reached Cox at the back post, but his header landed wide.
The hosts had their hearts in their mouths a little bit in 31 minutes when Lowdon's cross from the left deflected off Rovers defender Mark Sideserf's leg and really could have gone anywhere, but rolled wide of the left post.

Ryan Stevenson showed some of his old sharpness to get a crisp shot away in 34 minutes, but a deflection took the sting out of it and Annan's Mitchell was able to gather.
Aitken went down inside the box in 37 minutes but this time Rovers' claims were half-hearted and that one looked like the right call by the whistler not to stop play.
Annan tried their luck with another Wallace corner, which was nodded down well, but Lewis Hunter flicked the ball past the right post.
Stevenson did well to reach the left bye-line in 40 minutes, and hooked in a cross, but Mitchell was waiting for it and caught the ball well.
Annan threatened 11 minutes into the second half, but Aiden Smith's powerful shot was parried and caught by Stone at the left corner.
The visitors took the lead in 70 minutes when Wallace's deep cross from the left was hooked in acrobatically by Anderson, with a superb overhead kick that landed in the left corner.
Rovers tried to get back level and in 77 minutes a neat move ended in Jamie Leslie sending a rocket shot whistling past the left post.
Annan's Jordon Lowdon was sent off in the final minute for a second booking.
Then, from McGowan's long throw, Jamieson bundled the ball in.
