Raging Frank McAvennie has slammed the performance of Albian Ajeti insisting he could do a better job for Celtic up front.
The Swiss striker is now Ange Postecoglou 's only option up front following injuries to Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis.
The 24-year-old was limited to cameo appearances last term after his £5million move from West Ham, but has netted three in his last four games.
However, former Parkhead star McAvennie remains unimpressed by his performances.
He reckons he doesn't give enough to his Celtic teammates and to Postecoglou's style of play in the absence of Japanese star Kyogo.
McAvennie insists that at 61 he could have done more against Livingston than Ajeti in a brutal swipe.
He told Open Goal : “He’s not got a like for like and that’s the biggest problem.
“Ajeti, I watched him (against Livingston), and I’m 61 and I could have covered more ground at pace than that.
“Between the box he was just running about, he never broke any kind of sweat.
“He turned the boy once and toe-poked it. He should have done better.
“It’s great when you have someone up there and they chase the full back, and everyone knows what they are doing.
“When you lose it, Ajeti is not going to go out an cover him. It slows everybody down.”
