Albian Ajeti Celtic injury blow as striker tops Premiership scoring charts before limping off against Hibs

Celtic striker Albian Ajeti left the field injured in his side's league clash against Hibernian.

The Swiss frontman scored his fifth Scottish Premiership goal in just his third Hoops start in the 35th minute.

The strike sent the former Basel man to the top of the scoring charts for the top flight in 2020/21.

But he was injured in the process of tucking away the rebound from Moi Elyounoussi 's shot.

Ajeti was replaced by French striker Odsonne Edouard, who is also trying to return to full fitness after a short spell on the sidelines with a thigh issue.

Shortly after the substitution, Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong also suffered a knock and had to receive treatment - but the teenager was able to carry on.

Ajeti's goal made it 2-0 after playmaker Callum McGregor opened the scoring with a fine drive from distance.

The new Parkhead number 10 joined from West Ham in August for a fee of £5million.
