Albian Ajeti may not have hit top form for Celtic yet but he has been hailed by Switzerland boss Murat Yakin after a surprise recall.
The 24-year-old was limited to cameo appearances last term but was drafted into Ange Postecoglou's plans after a knock to Kyogo Furuhashi.
Despite finding the net three times during that stint, he failed to make a lasting impression on the Australian.
With the Japanese international returning to the starting line-up against Bayer Leverkusen, there is some good news for the attacker.
Ajeti has been recalled to represent his country in the next set of World Cup qualifiers for the first time since September 2020.
There was also good news for Rangers loanee Cedric Itten as he was drafted back into his national side.
The Greuther Furth forward has caught the eye early in his Bundesliga having netted against Bayern Munich off the bench.
It has caught some of the Swiss media off guard with many pundits predicting Royal Antwerp target man Michael Frey to be in the fold.
However, Yakin shrugged off the questions over his surprise selection at his press conference - singing the praises of Ajeti and Itten.
Yakin said: "Ajeti and Itten have a more recent past with the team.
"They know the players who make up the frame. But it's a good thing to have more choices at the attacking level.
"Ajeti and Itten have shown that they can score, that they are surface attackers. It's not a choice against Frey. ”
