Albian Ajeti branded a Celtic diver as Parkhead legend Chris Sutton takes striker to task but predicts SFA 'panic'

Celtic legend Chris Sutton has called for Albian Ajeti to be banned for his Kilmarnock 'dive' - but fears the striker will get away with it.

The Swiss international went down under challenge from goalkeeper Colin Doyle, winning a penalty which Odsonne Edouard converted.

But the SFA judged that Ajeti had dived and issued him with a fast-track notice of complaint.

The 23-year-old faces a two match ban, with manager Neil Lennon insisting that Celtic will fight the charge.

And Sutton reckons that will be successful, even though he'd like to see Ajeti hammered.

He said on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra: "Do you know what? I think it was a dive.

"I think it was simulation.

"I think the SFA will panic, Celtic will put the pressure on and he will get away with it.

"I would ban divers, Darrell, I've always said that.

"I would ban divers, I would give them a couple of games and that would be a good deterrent."

Lennon has already confirmed that an appeal will be lodged as Celtic seek to overturn the two-match ban.

He said: "It is a penalty. He has had contact to the back of his foot/ankle.

"The keeper has made contact, he has gone down, the referee has given a penalty. I don't see any simulation.

"Simulation is where there is no contact. There is obvious contact, you can see that quite clearly.

"I don't understand why these charges have been brought up against Albian, we don't agree with at all so we will be appealing it of course."
