Alberto Moreno fires triple insult at Manchester United in message to Liverpool fans

Alberto Moreno has sent a message to Liverpool fans after helping Villarreal win the Europa League.

The La Liga club beat the Red’s arch rivals Manchester United after an enthralling penalty shootout with the tie finishing 1-1 after extra time.

Gerard Moreno opened the scoring for the Spanish side, before Edinson Cavani equalised for Man United in the second half, and it remained that way until after 120 minutes of football.

The resulting shootout saw the first 21 be scored, with Villarreal goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli scoring, before Man United keeper David De Gea missed which secured the trophy for the Spanish club.

This is the second time that the former Liverpool defender has won the Europa League in his career, with the first also being under the tutelage of Unai Emery at Sevilla.

Moreno also ended his Liverpool tenure with a Champions League final victory over Tottenham in 2019, although he was an unused substitute that night in Madrid.

After helping Villarreal beat Man United, Moreno posted a live video on his Instagram story celebrating in the dressing room in Gdansk.

Many Liverpool fans commented on the video, which prompted Moreno to respond and send a message to supporters of his former employers.

And he could not resist a triple dig at United - reminding them three times they had just been defeated.

“For all the fans of Liverpool, vamos (let's go)!

“Man United, get out! Get out, Man United, get out.

“You’ll never walk alone. Liverpool, siempre (forever).

“Siempre, in my heart.”

There was another video by Moreno taken during the trophy celebrations on the pitch, only this one was much more brief.

He shouted: “Vamos, you’ll never walk alone!”
