Celtic are tracking Houston Dynamo centre-forward Alberth Elis, Emilio Izaguirre has claimed.
The Honduras left-back is weighing up signing a new one-year deal with the Scottish champions but this week he announced he still hopes to get a move to the MLS.
And Izaguirre revealed Celtic are looking at his Honduras team-mate Elis, who scored nine goals for Honduras in 21 appearances for his national team and also has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce.
Izaguirre said: "Celtic have asked me about a few players from Honduras.
"They've asked me several times about Elis. Who knows? Maybe one day they will sign players from Honduras like me.
"Honduras has some very good players, but the professional part of things is sometimes missing.
"Here at Celtic, here you have to forget everything else and be a professional for 24/7 and when you play in matches, you give everything."
Elis, 23, has already netted four goals in just seven starts for Houston this season and has 26 in total after moving from Monterrey two years ago.
