Albert Sambi Lokonga shares amazing Arsenal photograph after £25m deal is confirmed

Albert Sambi Lokonga has shared a fascinating childhood photograph of him sharing the pitch with now former Arsenal teammate Joe Willock.

The Belgian took to his Instagram story to share two images of the two, the first being a clash between the youth set-ups of Anderlecht and Arsenal captioned “good luck bro”.

Meanwhile, the second image displayed the pair in the midst of training sessions under Mikel Arteta during their brief period as Arsenal teammates, also with a caption as it said “the world is small”.

Sambi Lokonga arrived from Belgian giants Anderlecht earlier this summer in a deal reportedly worth £15m.

He was then afforded the opportunity to link up with Willock at the Emirates Stadium but their reunion only ended up being a short one, with the 21-year-old eventually joining Newcastle United in a £25m deal.

It was a photo that got Arsenal fans talking, with the two players now not set to play alongside each other for the Gunners.

The two will of course be taking to the pitch together this season but once again, they will be on opposing sides.

Arsenal at first take on Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on November 27, where Willock will surely be hoping to start upon his return to north London.

Meanwhile, the reverse meeting at St James’ Park is scheduled for May 15 2022 for the penultimate fixture of the 2021/22 Premier League season.
