Albert Adomah's Cardiff City future in the balance after Nottingham Forest boss gives update

Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has given a strong hint that Albert Adomah will return to the City Ground this week.

Adomah is currently on loan at Cardiff City having moved to south Wales in January, and has impressed as Neil Harris’ Bluebirds have surged into the Championship’s top six winning their last two since the restart.

The Forest winger’s loan deal is set to expire on Tuesday, and boss Harris stated his annoyance at the situation over the weekend, aiming his disappointment at the EFL.

Harris, a former Forest striker, had hoped to see Adomah’s loan deal extended to cover the remainder of the season, but given Cardiff’s form seeing them turn into play-off rivals, it’s expected that Forest will refuse to sanction him staying in the principality beyond Tuesday night’s game with Charlton and want him back in the East Midlands.

"The situation is clear," Lamouchi said after the Reds beat Huddersfield 3-1 to cement their top six place.

"Albert is a Nottingham Forest player. It was a loan and the club is doing the right to call back the players if they want.

"I am not understanding the problem.

"Cardiff know everything. We are just talking between smart and clever people to do the right thing for everybody and the club.

"The club decides, not me."
