Alba Party billboard covered up with Rangers ultras graffiti

AN Alba Party billboard has been covered up with Rangers ultras graffiti in what the party described as a “disappointing” act of vandalism.

The advert, displayed at the side of the M80 outside of Falkirk, was covered completely by graffiti reading: “UB07”.

The slogan is a signature tag of the Rangers ultras group the Union Bears.

Chris McEleny, the general secretary of the Alba Party, condemned the vandalism and said it would not deter the party from campaigning for independence.

He said: “It is disappointing to see that the advertising board has been vandalised by what has been reported to be the football fan group ‘Union Bears’.

“The Alba Party will continue to campaign for Scottish independence, and we will not shy away from putting independence messaging front and centre across Scotland.”

The billboard was one of a number of adverts put up by the party in recent months as part of an advertising blitz throughout the country.
