Alaves vs Real Madrid: La Liga prediction, live stream, TV, tickets, betting, h2h - 2019/20 preview

Real Madrid will look to move top of La Liga when they face Alaves at Mendizorrotza in Saturday's early kick-off.

With current leaders Barcelona not in action until they travel to Atletico Madrid in a tough fixture on Sunday night, Los Blancos can temporarily leapfrog their bitter rivals and move three points clear with a third successive league win in the Basque Country. A draw would also be enough to go top.

Zinedine Zidane's side - second only by virtue of a slightly inferior goal difference - have been much improved of late, easing past Galatasaray, Eibar and Real Sociedad before throwing away a two-goal lead against Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic Champions League encounter in midweek.

Opponents Alaves - managed by Asier Garitano - sit 13th in La Liga after back-to-back wins over Real Valladolid and Eibar.

Prediction: Alaves 1-3 Real Madrid

Real are full of confidence and will not want to waste a chance to overtake Barcelona and pile the pressure on both the reigning champions and Atletico, who are in action in the capital on Sunday evening.

Alaves are in good form themselves, but will do well to manage a repeat of their win in October 2018.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Alaves won this fixture last season, with Manu Garcia notching a late winner to extend Real's winless run to four matches.

However, Los Blancos got their revenge on home soil in February, easing to a 3-0 victory thanks to a terrific performance from Vinicius Junior.
